Hermes MCP Privacy Policy
Effective October 28, 2026
Clearworks operates hermesmcp (Hermes MCP), a private QuickBooks Online integration for Clearworks’s own business accounting. This policy describes that integration, not every Clearworks product or website.
Information we process
When an authorized Clearworks company administrator connects QuickBooks Online using Intuit OAuth 2.0, the integration processes connection identifiers, authorization tokens, and accounting records requested by authorized operators. Records may include company information, customer and vendor contact details, invoices, bills, payments, accounts, and transaction amounts. Operational logs and Hermes conversations may contain requests, results, and error details.
How we use information
We use this information to carry out internal accounting requests, retrieve and summarize records, make authorized accounting changes, troubleshoot failures, and protect the connection. Access is limited to authorized Clearworks operators and systems. The integration does not provide access to outside customers’ QuickBooks companies.
AI and service providers
Hermes uses configured AI services to interpret operator requests and summarize results. Relevant requests and returned accounting data may be processed by those providers to perform the requested task. Clearworks does not use QuickBooks data to train or fine-tune AI models. Infrastructure and AI providers process information subject to their applicable agreements and policies. We do not sell QuickBooks data or use it for advertising.
Storage, retention, and security
Connection credentials are held in Clearworks-controlled credential stores and local application configuration. Accounting results may remain in internal conversations, logs, exports, or backups. We retain information while needed for the authorized workflow, security, business records, or legal obligations, and remove it when no longer needed. We use access controls and protected connections; no system can guarantee absolute security.
Disconnecting and deletion
An authorized administrator can disconnect Hermes through QuickBooks Online’s connected-app settings to revoke future API access. Disconnecting does not automatically erase existing accounting records in QuickBooks or copies already retained by Clearworks. Contact us to request deletion of retained integration data or credentials, subject to required accounting, legal, and backup retention.

Updates
We will publish changes on this page with an updated effective date. A materially different use of QuickBooks data requires appropriate authorization before that use begins.
